Transforming the Culture through Beauty

The Cincinnati Club
5:30 - 9:00pm

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, we gather once again for An Evening of Catholic Culture. This year, we are honored to present the 2026 Fra Angelico Award to Archbishop Emeritus Dennis Schnurr. Featuring sacred art, live music, inspiring performances, and more, this Gala is far more than a typical banquet. It is a rallying point for cultural renewal — bringing together artists, clergy, business leaders, families, and patrons who believe beauty will save the world.

Join us as we celebrate the mission of The Angelico Project and rally together to help make Greater Cincinnati a center of a new renaissance of Catholic art, thought, and culture — drawing thousands closer to Christ and His Church.

Fra Angelico Award Honoree

The Most Rev. Dennis M. Schnurr

Archbishop Emeritus of Cincinnati

Each year, The Angelico Project presents the Fra Angelico Award to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Catholic art, thought, and culture in our region. This year, we are honored to recognize The Most Reverend Dennis M. Schnurr, Archbishop Emeritus of Cincinnati, for nearly two decades of faithful service to the Church in Greater Cincinnati and southwest Ohio.

Over the course of his episcopacy, Archbishop Schnurr’s leadership profoundly shaped the spiritual, cultural, and institutional life of the local Church. His legacy includes deep investment in seminary formation and priestly vocations, strong support for lay evangelization, and encouragement of cultural and artistic initiatives—including his early and consistent support of The Angelico Project. He also led the historic One Faith, One Hope, One Love campaign, strengthening Catholic education, parish life, and the foundations that allow worship, beauty, and culture to flourish.

Perhaps most importantly, Archbishop Schnurr personally confirmed thousands of Catholics, ordained more than seventy priests, and helped foster one of the strongest periods of vocational growth the archdiocese has seen in decades. In honoring him with the Fra Angelico Award, we recognize a shepherd whose leadership helped lay the foundation and cultivate the conditions in which a mission like ours can take root and grow. His faithful labor over many years has, in no small way, helped prepare this region for the future we firmly believe God is calling it to: to become a center of a new renaissance of Catholic art, thought, and culture.
